Inshore Fishing Trips
In Lake Charles & Hackberry
What to Expect
Lake Charles and Hackberry sit right in the middle of one of the most consistent inshore fisheries on the Gulf Coast.
Between the Calcasieu Lake system, surrounding marshes, and nearby flats, you’ve got a mix of shallow water, oyster reefs, and open lake structure that holds fish year-round.
It’s not one type of fishing — it’s constantly changing based on tide, wind, and season, and that’s what makes it good.

Most days, we’re targeting redfish and speckled trout, with flounder and black drum mixed in depending on the time of year. Some fish are up shallow in the marsh or along the grass lines, others are holding deeper on reefs or along drop-offs in the lake. The key here isn’t running far — it’s knowing how these fish move with the conditions and staying on top of it.
This fishery rewards adjustments. One day might be working shorelines in cleaner water, the next might mean slowing down over structure or fishing deeper depending on the wind and tide.
